Teachers, if you tested a student with an initial ELPAC and they were designated EL but, based on evidence and observation, you and the parent feel that they are proficient in English, you can request a review for status correction to IFEP (Initially Fluent English Proficient).

  • Only one status correction may be made in a student’s school career.
  • This is a review process; it is not guaranteed that the status change will be approved.
  • Please start by reading the ELAS Correction Information Sheet, then proceed with the PowerPoint, and Survey, if you choose to initiate the process.
